Visit to Utange, September 2021

Much time has passed since our last visit to Utange in January 2020. The pandemic that broke out shortly afterwards prevented the usual 4-5 annual visits to the village that the Italian and Swiss associations of 'Gli Amici di Utange' used to make through their representatives.

The clinic is reopened

Thanks to the interest of the friendly non-profit organization "Un Chicco per l'Africa," the clinic, which had to cease its essential activity due to lack of funds, was reopened as of Feb. 15, 2021.

Utange during Covid-19

The Lifog school was closed from the end of March until 12 October due to the lockdown imposed by the school authorities. In practice, students missed a term, which, according to the latest guidelines, will be made up in early 2021 (hopefully without further closures).
